Granting Instructor Access on a Course

Power Users can assign Power Users Instructor access on a course so they can manually grade test answers (e.g., Extended Text Answers).

Steps Overview

  1. Go to Course Management → Open Course
  2. Go to Enrollments Tab
  3. Change Role to Instructor (Single User)
  4. Change Role to Instructor (Multiple Users)

 

1. Go to Course Management → Open Course
  • Admin menu (gear) → Course Management → click the course title.

 

2. Go to Enrollments Tab
  • Open the Enrolments tab.
  • Find/search the power user you want to give Instructor access to

 

3. Change Role to Instructor (Single User)
  • Find the user → click the ellipsis (⋮) at the end of their row → Edit enrollment.
  • Change Level/Role from Learner to Instructor → Confirm.

 

4. Change Role to Instructor (Multiple User)
  • Tick the checkboxes next to each user you want to update.
  • Click the green “Choose Action” button (bottom-right) → Edit enrollment.
  • Change Level/Role from Learner to Instructor → Confirm.

 

Notes

  • Being a power user is a must to be an Instructor
  • Only Instructors can grade manual items.
  • To revoke access, change the role back to Learner (or remove the enrollment).
