Adding a Knowledge Test to a Course?

A quick guide to creating and configuring a test as part of your course materials.

1. Create a Test
  • Go to your course’s Training Material tab.
  • Click Add Training MaterialTest.

 

2. Name & Describe
  • Enter your Test Title and Description.
  • Click Save Changes.

3. Add Questions & Answers
  • Questions: Click Add Question, choose a type (e.g. single-choice, multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank).
  • Answers: Click Add Answer, type each option, tick the correct one, then Save Changes.

 

4. Set Prerequisites (Optional)
  • In Training Material, click the test’s menu → Prerequisites.
  • Tick any items (e.g. readings, videos) that must be completed first.
  • Click Save Changes.

5. Types of Questions

Following are the description for each question type that you can use:

Type  Description

1. Single choice 

Learners can choose a single answer among the answer choices because there is only one correct answer. 
2. Multiple Choice Learners must choose more than one correct answer from a list of choices.

3. Extended text

Learners will respond with an extended text written by themselves

4. Fill-in-the-blank

Learners must answer the correct answer in the blank space
5. Inline choice Similar to the single-choice question, the inline choice has only one correct option. 
6. Text Entry Learners must fill in the blank portion of a sentence with the correct missing piece
7. Association Learners must associate answer choices with a topic
8. Upload file Learners are asked to upload a file that will be downloaded and evaluated by the instructor. You can request various file formats, such as PDF, PPT, Word documents, and images.
