      How to Manage Score Settings for a Test

      Configure how scores are calculated, displayed, and passed so your tests mark complete correctly.

      Steps Overview

      1. Open Score Management

      5. Save Your Settings

      1. Open Score Management

      • In your course’s Training Material tab, open the test.
      • Click the Score Management section.

      2. Set Minimum Passing Score

      • In Minimum Score, enter the points learners must achieve to pass (e.g. 10).

      3. Choose Score Display Format

      • Select Numbers or Percentages for how learners see their score.

      4. Select Score Assignment Method

      • Do Nothing – no auto‑distribution
      • Equal per Question – splits total evenly
      • By Difficulty – weights questions by difficulty
      • Manual per Question – assign unique points
      • Equal per Visible Question – divides evenly for randomised sets (recommended)

      5. Save Your Settings

      • Click Save Changes to apply.

      ⚠️ If you don’t set a passing score and distribution, tests won’t register as complete.

       

      6. Score Management Summary:

      Section Option What It Does Notes
      Minimum Score Minimum score to pass Enter the score a user must get to pass. Displayed as a number or % depending on Score Display setting.
      Score Display Show score as number or % Choose how scores appear to users. Can’t change this if someone has already started the test.
      Manage Score per Question Do Nothing No scoring rules applied. Works even if you used questions from Question Bank.
        Score by difficulty level Enter total score and set difficulty per question. Platform assigns scores automatically. Doesn’t apply to Question Bank questions. Save again after edits.
        Same score for all questions Enter total score, system divides it equally. Not for tests with Question Bank questions. May round scores.
        Choose score for each question Manually enter score per question. Doesn’t apply to Question Bank questions. Default score is 0.
        Same score for visible (random) questions For random tests, divides score equally among shown questions. Not for tests with Question Bank questions. Save again after edits.
      Score Info (auto) Current Max Score Shows total score based on your settings. Not editable.
        New Max Score Updates when using Question Bank questions + custom ones. Must be higher than total Question Bank score.
