New Platform Navigation/Interface: What's Changed and Where to Find Things

The Allara Global platform has launched a redesigned admin navigation interface. The layout has been reorganised to make daily tasks faster to find, with a cleaner header, a new icon-based sidebar, and a logical grouping of related areas.

What's different at a glance

  • Before: Admin functions were accessed via a gear icon (⚙️) in the top right corner, which opened a flat dropdown menu organised into broad sections like E-Learning, Users, and Settings.

  • Now: The admin panel uses an icon-based sidebar on the left, with each icon representing a category. Hovering over an icon expands its menu items. The header has also been redesigned — it's cleaner, with always-visible labels and Harmony Search built directly into it so you can search for any admin page, course, or asset without navigating there manually.

Note: Some page names have changed in the new navigation. The content and functionality of those pages remains exactly the same — only the labels and locations have been updated.


2. What's new in the interface

  • Redesigned header The header bar is cleaner and less cluttered. Your profile and account options are now accessed by clicking your profile picture (My account) in the top area of the sidebar, rather than a separate menu in the top right corner.

  • Harmony Search in the header The search bar is now embedded in the header. You can type the name of any admin page, course, asset, or configuration area and jump straight to it. This is especially useful while you're getting used to the new layout.

  • Hierarchical admin menu The sidebar groups related areas together logically. Daily management tasks (courses, users, reports) are separated from advanced platform configuration, reducing the number of clicks for common workflows.

  • Launch Pad A new page accessible via the rocket icon (🚀) in the bottom left corner of the sidebar. This is where you can discover and activate new platform features as they become available, without needing to contact support.

  • Breadcrumbs The breadcrumb trail at the top of each page now starts from the second level. For example, navigating to a course session shows: Course management → [Course name] → [Session name] — the top-level icon is excluded for a cleaner view.

3. Using Favourites

You can mark frequently used pages as favourites so they appear in a dedicated section at the top of your sidebar — saving you from navigating through the full menu every time.

To add a favourite:

  • Hover over any item in the sidebar menu and click the Add to favourites option that appears, or
  • When viewing a page, click the heart icon (♡) next to the page title

Your favourites appear in their own section in the sidebar and are accessible with a single click.


4. Important notes
  • The legacy admin menu is retired on 22 July 2026. After that date it will no longer be available on any platform.
  • Custom CSS may need updating. If your platform uses custom CSS on the header, buttons, or page elements, test it in the new navigation as some styles may need adjusting. Contact helpdesk@allaraglobal.com if you notice visual issues.
  • Use Harmony Search as a shortcut. If you can't find something in the new layout, type its name into the search bar in the header — it indexes all admin menu items and will take you directly there.
